My Start and Stop Family History Journey

I sat in my 4th session of Rootstech 2023 yesterday afternoon and recommitted to blogging and Family History. It had been an internal battle to even go to Rootstech. I argued with myself that I shouldn’t take time off or spend the money to go because I hadn’t followed through with my commitments from last Rootstech. Why go and just add more information and experience that would make me feel guilty when I once again didn’t follow through?

I paid the registration fee and got the time off but, up until Thursday morning was still wavering between going to Rootstech or going to Idaho to my parent’s for a visit. I told myself I would do the virtual portion of Rootstech.

I am pretty sure the Lord wanted me at Rootstech because things just kept happening that ended up with me sitting in a session at 9:30 on Friday morning. I am glad that it has worked out that way. I will be heading there soon for the events of today, Saturday March 4.

Here is my FB post from yesterday.

I just finished my second day of Rootstech 2023. It has been amazing. It is so clear that the Lord is hastening His work because the technology is progressing so quickly.
I am so glad I made it here. There is a lot of content online that is free and accessible to everyone. Check it out at rootstech.org.
The fact that sticks in my head: the 1940 Census was released in 2012 and it took 9 months to get digitized. The 1950 Census was released in 2022 and it took 9 days to digitize!!
